Simon Borg-Olivier
Yoga Synergy Workshops in Tokyo on Practical Applied Anatomy & Physiology of Yoga
Friday 16th November - Sunday 18th November 2007

YogaSynergy is powerful dynamic traditional hatha yoga that is designed in sequence and form with an understanding from medical science and physiotherapy. The YogaSynergy sequences progresses students from simple (easy) to complex (hard) versions of each asana (static posture) and vinyasa (dynamic exercise) to develop a balance between your strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. At the same time each sequence encourages your ability to stay relaxed and allow subtle energy to flow within you. Simon uses the Synergy style and his experience as physiotherapist and advanced yoga practitioner to guide you as to what you need to be able to do before safely progressing from a beginner to an advanced level in each exercise. Simonfs unique method of teaching is effective yet safe as it only allows people to progress to a harder version of a posture when their levels of strength and flexibility are balanced.
These workshops are highly recommended for yoga practitioners and yoga teachers of styles of hatha yoga including Iyengar yoga and Ashtanga vinyasa yoga. The YogaSynergy sequences presented here contain all the postures of the Ashtanga vinyasa series, the postures in Mr Iyengarfs Light on Yoga plus many more unique or rarely taught postures that can have a profound effect on the body.

Simon Borg-Olivier is co-author of "Applied Anatomy & Physiology of Yoga".

The Water Sequence can be very good at balancing strength and flexibility while generating energy fields within and outside the body. This can help to instruct the intelligence of each cell so that every part of the body can be reached for nourishment, healing and energising.

Workshop focus: The focus of this workshop will be on creating a safe effective yoga practice that can prevent or heal injuries or medical conditions.
