Before finding Yoga, Jacqueline worked for 8 years as a successful Industrial Engineer and managed international IT projects in Australia, India, China and America. She realised that most people, who spend 12-14 hours/day in artifical office environments and who are pressured to out-perform co-workers, were living unhealthy lifestyles and struggling to find the time and energy to care for themselves. Only those that who were desperate for material wealth seemed willing to ednure these conditions, so Jacqueline decided there must be a better way of living!
Embarking on a journey to discover joy and fulfillment in the here and now, Jacqueline began to meditate daily. Experiencing the profound changes in perspective that flow from regular meditation, she travelled to Japan in 2001 to deepen her practice and spent a year living a traditional, simple life in rural Japan (Ei-chou Ibuski-gun, Kyushu).
Since that time, Jacqueline has immersed herself in the study and practice of Hatha Yoga, Indian and Buddhist philosophy in various traditions including Zen, Chi Gung, Jivamukti Yoga, Yin Yoga and Iyengar Yoga. She has completed Yoga Teacher Training with Samadhi Yoga (Sydney), Yin/Yang Yoga Teacher Training with Sarah Powers (San Jose) and Advanced Yoga Teacher Training with Inspya Yoga (Byron Bay).
Jacqueline aims to integrate the ancient teachings of India with the specific subtle body anatomy of the Chinese Meridian Theory. She uses this synthesis of eastern knowledge to assist others in improving the health of internal organs, eliciting the bodyfs natural healing response and awakening ones inner wisdom.
Jacqueline approaches the teaching of Yoga with an emphasis on the meditative and healing aspects. With a particular interest in cultivating mindfulness and freedom from unnecessary tensions, Jacqueline enjoys assisting others to find a true sense of balance and vitality in the present moment. She reaches out to those caught in the difficulties of modern city life to embrace the most prized benefits of health and living in harmony with nature.
Most recently based in Singapore (COMO Shambhala) and Sydney (Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Samadhi Yoga), Jacqueline teaches Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Meditation and Nutrition in open classes, workshops, teacher trainings and retreats.
